Image A couple of days ago the joomla! core group announced their final "burial" dates for joomla! 1.0.15 (legacy) and noted as well the discontinuance of listings for non-native 1.5+ third party components, modules and plugins.

While we at a8e.org certainly understand the importance of single-cycle project development and the inherit need to keep codebase (esp. during beta) on track, we feel strongly about the undeniable utility and extensible lifecycle of, what's become known as the "legacy" joomla, and, have every intention to continue to support and develop a8e (formally known as a8ejoomla) towards a stable content management platform, freely available under the GPL/GNU Open Source initiatives.

We encourage all joomla legacy component, module, theme and plugin developers who'd like to support a8e by joining our third party developer teams, adding their work to our upcoming aed (*a8e extensions directory) to contact us via email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) for more information.
